Of course you would know that in my infinite wisdom, I did not take a picture of my little pile of beads.
This is sort of a short post, though. I have pile of beads that are orange. I rarely use orange. It's one half of the school colors of my University rival, the Florida Gators, and well, I can't really not use blue, so I sort of naturally boycott orange.
Well for the blog hop, I decided to use this pile of orange beads that has been sitting in a little Tupperware bowl on my beading desk, taunting me with their sunset hue, for forever now. There were some pretty vintage acrylic bicones, seashell chips, seashell teardrops, seashell rounds as well as some orange seed beads and a few little daisy spacers just to throw in some whimsy.
I have to say, though, that I may have to change my opinion of orange after this, because I am actually really liking this color palette!
I want to say thank you to Lori Anderson at http://www.prettythingsblog.com/ for hosting this hop, and I apologize for this post being so very short!
Since this has been one of the wettest summers I can remember, I am going to call this Sunset Tangerine! :) Reminds me of warm sunny days.

love the orange!!
ReplyDeleteOrange is such a rich color to work with. Your wonderful set reminds me of the deep colors of the setting sun. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely warm creation! I think you did a wonderful job with a color that seems out of your comfort zone - I had to use some orange myself this year, and it was VERY challenging ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the use of the color orange ,I was wearing an orange top today.Nice necklace and earrings .
ReplyDeleteDitto very pretty sunset colors. I used to think that way about green but I seem to be using a lot of it lately. I've decided I like green....as long as it's a bead :) Wonderfully done!
ReplyDeleteYou made a pretty and summery necklace.
ReplyDeleteI don't use orange or yellow very much, and yet I still buy orange beads! I think I like the color, but have no idea what to pair it with to make it look classy. You did a fabulous job! I love your design and the bright color!
ReplyDeleteOoh, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLovely warm hues in this piece :)
ReplyDeleteLovely combination of orange hues!
ReplyDeleteGlad you took the "orange" challenge, Candida... these are beautiful! I admit this is a colour I rarely use, but now I have received some special handmade orange beads for another challenge. I can use this extra inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt's summer, ☼ right now ☼!!! You made that happen :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy♥ and thanks for sharing!
Kudos to you for using a color you don't often use. Orange is the hardest color for me to use. Your necklace and earrings are pretty and full of texture.
ReplyDeleteGreat design. You'll have to use orange more often. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pieces! I recently have begun to really appreciate orange--it's so bright and cheery--and these make me smile. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThose beads really do work well together don't they? Certainly is a beautiful make
ReplyDeleteOh I love the colors of the pieces.. Orange is just so summery.

ReplyDeleteI'm not big on orange either, but have found a few palettes that I can work with it in. It's great that you took this opportunity to use some of your stash AND work with a color you usually don't Way to go!!
